No, not another new band, but the sore and lamentable malady from which I've been suffering all week, hence no playing, posting, or much of anything. Today was the first day I even made it past 3 on the consciousness scale (it's out of 100 - the Dalai Lama scores 88 on a good day), and as it was also the day Le Massif were supposed to play their fatal gig, a vestigial sense of responsibility managed to coax me out of the house for ten minutes to check on the guys I'd passed it on to. Not only did they show up as promised, they sounded great - sickeningly good given how young they all are - and with their permission, here' s a little snippet of what we might have won. Great playing all round, an edgy blues-bop guitar solo, and especially killer drumming: What Might Have Been
In other news: Floyd, my three year-old, got his first Ukulele this weekend. He's very taken with it and as soon as he's not watching, so am I. My ear is chronic, but with the help of this bad boy, it's gonna ripen quicker than a banana in the glove compartment. I picked out both "Ode to Joy" and "Here, There, and Everywhere" on it today. Don't mock. It worked for Joe Pass.
(Floyd and I playing "Smoke on the Water" in the kitchen of my apartment in Ronkonkoma on the day I came down with the shits.)

Ahh, typical jazz gig. A killer band plays while everyone ignores them and gossips about their friend's children.

Looking forward to hearing Floyd's chops on the uke. By the way, I finally got around to unpacking, dusting off and plugging in my seriously sweet custom arch-top mini-Super 400 (yeah, really, like a Super 400 but washed and dried on hot, so about 2/3 sized so that I can tune in fifths like the fiddle an mando that I played in a previous incarnation; yeah, I know, as Floyd would say with a shrug: 'That's weird!'). Anyway, when I plugged it in here on Norwood, I got a really distinct radio station signal from the amp. I've heard of this happening from other musicians, but never experienced myself and thus never paid attention to possible solutions. I suppose the usual suggestion would be -- get a shielded cable; not so useful for me, since my pre-amp is part of the guitar-to-amp cable. Suggestions, oh guru?

Are you playing it upstairs? In the first house I lived in here, I got radio signals in my amp if I played in the attic, though no such problems downstairs. Alternatively, you could just tune it in to WBF ROCK.
Would you be able to submit a photo of this intriguing guitar?

I had got a desire to begin my firm, but I didn't have got enough amount of money to do that. Thank goodness my dude proposed to use the loans. So I took the college loan and made real my desire.
